Ribbon Flower Art
Concept

Concept

Like painting, the ribbon flower arranging is also categorized into various types, impressionism, abstract, realism. Folk or Idiom and contemporary based on the creator’s concepts, imagination and perception of objects and landscape. The significant difference between craft and art is originality that expresses the emotion, feelings and intelligence of the creator even though both require the application of certain fundamental techniques.
Why we regard our pieces as art, rather than craft is because all the work are created with inspiration, not imitated, reflecting the creator’s philosophy of life, status of mind and perspectives of surrounding objects or things.

To be more specific about our ideology, we enumerate some works below to demonstrate how we create our floral arrangements.

Wall-mounted work

Wall mounted art piece: constructed based on the creator’s perception of Chinese traditional culture. The motif of the piece is focused on the peony’s connotation, which means to Chinese not only tangible fortune, but also spiritual satisfaction and the nobleness of status, and the calligraphies engrafted by contemporary masters on the frames. The combination of the two elements presents the kernel of the 5000 years of Chinese history.

Necklace work

designed to present the attitude and gesture of natural plants. The focus is set on the arrangement of artistic ribbon flowers and lines which are constituted of chamois leather ropes, wax ropes, piano wires and beads, trying to create a painting-like feeling. Each piece is endowed with its unique life form.

Corsage work

in the sense of season’s change, resurrecting in spring, thriving in summer, falling in autumn and fading in winter, the corsage is created to reflect the processes of birth, aging, sickness and death through abstract design.
